thE PROBLEM
BNMC, Inc., a medical campus in Buffalo, NYM, has brought a new approach, called MutualCity, which is working to provide the essential needs that every city, neighborhood, community, family and individual need to thrive: health in all its dimensions, opportunity for growth and employment, and the resources required to take advantage of them.
In a city based on mutuality for all citizens, there would be vital food systems, culture, art, clean energy, youth, innovation, housing, opportunities for work and education, and healthy relationships between communities. People who lived there would have economic, environmental and emotional health as well as physical health. Therefore, how might we create an online dashboard to track the progress of MutualCity, the health of the city, and communicates the different ways in which MutualCity interacts with and positively impacts people and the city of Buffalo, NY?

MY ROLE AND Team
I collaborated with other three designers from setting up the project strategy, analyzing activities datas and structuring information architecture for the dashboard. I played the critical role to design the interface design and visual system.
Mutual City Data Dashboard is a semester project SVA DSI cooperated with Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus (BNMC).
Design Process: Learn > Synthesize > Define > Create > Implement
We integrated existing data sets that are relevant to the MutualCity/Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, and present them in a compelling way for stakeholders to better inform their future decisions, and to see the impact government, non-profit and private partnerships have on the local community. We also defined a measurement indicator that reflects the health of the city of Buffalo, which could be adopted as a standard for other cities to follow.
Research and Analysis
Investigate the current services or facilities in the BNMC and other possibilities for city's health.
